"Today, youth of all creeds, especially those who are provided with inadequate service need our help as a collective society to be afforded a chance to benefit from opportunities that can change their outcome for tomorrow. " ~ Toriano Bryant
Toriano is the Founder of Youth Outdoor Unity and has served as the Executive Director since 2009. He brings a unique perspective to the expressive dimensions of nonprofits and public service through his experience of analyzing youth in vulnerable communities, such as urban, rural, and coastal settlements. In his determination to advance opportunities that advocate for youth and young adults, he developed the organization’s experiential STREAAM beyond STEM project, which bolsters the capacity of learning initiatives and creatively enlist the help of volunteers. The curated community project earned him and the organization a proclamation from the City of Houston in 2018.
Toriano holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University and a Minor in Maritime Studies from Texas A&M University, Galveston. In 2021, Toriano was inducted into the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Toriano’s longing to fortify his public service leadership led him to graduate studies at the Bush School of Government at Texas A&M University in 2022, with a desire to obtain a Master of Public Service and Administration degree. He is studying nonprofit management concentrating in urban education with a focus on obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration (Ph.D.).
