About YOU!

Youth Outdoor Unity (YOU!) was established in Houston, Texas when brothers, Toriano Bryant, Executive Director, and Mitchell Bryant, Activity Director, saw a need for change in their own community. Launched in 1996, the organization

The organization serves under-represented, inner-city communities with outdoor outreach opportunities for youth and their families.  Enrollment includes students who are physically/mentally challenged, low-income, living in female-headed households, and experiencing homelessness. Our educational environmental and outdoor activities increase cooperative learning and engage youth in critical thinking while having fun in the process.

We have found that environmental education and increased outdoor activity has contributed to academic achievement in reading, writing, science and social studies.  Our programs foster youth physical fitness and youth leadership development which increases the possibility of turning the Art of Living into Lifestyles.

We have added 2 new projects to our program, Recyled Learning Enrichment Program and The Youth of Texas/Youth of Nevada.

"Our achievements," says Bryant, "do not come easily. We spend 85% of our time asking for your youth, not your money. Please, tell every child you know them about us! Eventually, others will join in our efforts to reach out to our youth, your youth, their youth, and youth in general, by your example. Please Help US, Help YOU! HELP THEM!"
